DISCOVER THE SOUTH SAN JUAN WILDERNESS
with Fish Creek Outfitters

Fish Creek Outfitters (FCO) offers wilderness experiences for hunters, fisherman, and sightseeing enthusiasts in the South San Juan National Forest Wilderness East of Pagosa Springs in Southwest Colorado.  Hunters may choose to hunt elk, deer, big horn sheep, turkey, and black bear in a number of different seasons including Black Powder, Archery, and several different Rifle seasons.  Fishermen will have a variety of trout species to choose from in the creeks, rivers and high country lakes that FCO has to offer.  For the scenery lover or the horse enthusiast, summer trips to the Continental Divide are available as well as day rides at lower elevations.

Guided hunts are offered with full service accommodations including meals and lodging in modern cabins or a wilderness base camp.  Guided hunts are also available on a daily basis and can be traveled on horseback for the physically restricted.  Drop camp hunts are the most popular hunt that FCO has to offer.  This hunt includes full packing service for the hunters gear and groceries and a horseback ride, in and out, to one of the seven wilderness camps for which FCO is permitted.  Camps are set with all the equipment necessary to make the hunters very comfortable.  A detailed list of items found in camp is available upon request.  Drop camp prices also include packing out of any game harvested and transportation to the local processing plant or the hunter's vehicle.  Camps are located between 9,000 and 10,000 ft. in semi heavily wooded forest with moderate to steep terrain.  FCO offers game packing service, horse rentals and hauling for those that qualify.  The Blanco River and Fish Creek drainages support one of the best elk herds in the area and Mule deer numbers are on the rise in Southwest Colorado, so the opportunity to bag a Timberline buck are at a recent high.  FCO will work with hunters to customize the hunt that best suits their needs.  Call Wes or Clay to discuss what hunt would be best for you.
Summer trips travel on horseback to the Continental Divide to elevations well above timberline.  The full service camp is staffed with a cook, wrangler and guide to make your fishing, camping and scenic adventure pleasurable and more successful.  A variety of trout, including brook, rainbow, cutthroat and brown await the angler or fly fisherman providing ample opportunities for success.
Numerous high mountain peaks offer spectacular photo opportunities for the scenery enthusiast, while riding theContinental Divide trail. Summer pack trips for groups of 4 (min.) to 8 people usually range from 3 to 4 days in length and are offered in the months of July and August.  Day rides start in June, primarily Friday, Saturday and Sunday and can be booked in advance for groups of 4 (min.) to 8 (max.).  Horse rental and hauling are available during Summer months to those who qualify.
